Oddfellows Playhouse proudly announces the appointment of Charles Frey as its new Interim Executive Director.

For twenty years, Charles has been directing and advancing nonprofit organizations throughout New York and Connecticut. A parent, educator, and nonprofit strategic consultant, Charles is committed to building stronger communities by inspiring and educating donors, staff and volunteers to assist in providing services and improving quality of life.

Charles most recently served as VP for Advancement of St. Martin Academy, an all-scholarship school endeavoring to break the cycle of poverty for students living at or below poverty level in Greater New Haven. He also served as Executive Director of the Mercy Center at Madison, and from 2006-2010 was the CEO of the American Red Cross of South Central Connecticut until its consolidation into a statewide chapter.

Charles attended Hunter College of the City of New York as an undergraduate and Fordham University for graduate studies in education administration.

Prior to a professional career in raising funds and awareness, Charles served as teacher and principal in private schools from 1980 through 1996. During his tenure, Charles received recognition for educational leadership as New York School Development Association’s Principal of the Year (1993), and was nominated several times for the prestigious Reader’s Digest American Heroes in Education Award.

We hope you’ll join us in welcoming Charles to the Oddfellows Playhouse family.
